Knowing the Father...unsearchable things
The other day I was sitting in class here at YWAM Denver, when the speaker said something that never really hit me before. He said, "The Holy Spirit in us is closer than Christ in the fleash could ever get to us". That is why Jesus said that it is better that He go to the Father, so that He may send the Hold Spirit to live in us. And that Spirit in us is the Spirit of God, which directly connects us to the Father. ......Imagine with me for a moment. Jesus walks into the room and sits right next to you. He looks you straight in the eyes and says, "Now, I am here in front of you. You can see me, talk with me, and be held by me...But, ", then He draws closer to you, places His hand upon your chest and whispers, "...But, the Spirit of me and my Father lives closer to you than I could ever be. You can't see him...but you can talk directly to me and Father God because of him. Now, you see in part, but then you shall see things in full. You will feel the Father's heart leap in you when the Father sees broken people through your eyes. You will be bent over with pain for those who you don't even know. Yet, there be no greater joy when I show you the unsearchable things. For before the Spirit living in you, you were separated from knowing all about me- you couldn't find the unsearchable things even if you were to look everywhere and everyday for them. But, because you now have this Spirit in you, you will come to know these unsearchable things....". Then Jesus grabs your hand and as your Spirit lifts inside of you. You begin to feel emotions you've never known before and tears begin to run down your face when He says, "...you will come to know the unsearchable things...because I am going to give them to you. I want to give them to you. I want to bless you. I want to love you like you've never felt. I want to sing songs over you in the night and they will resound throughout your mind the next day, though you will not know the words. I will turn your brokeness into peace. I will turn your pride into humility. You will see my face, but not as you do now." Then He stops...He turns your face to Him and you open your eyes. Immediately you turn away. Something happened, now Jesus' face seems brighter. He then moves to look you in the eyes and this time you don't turn away. You know it's going to be bright, but you don't care. It's too beautiful a sight not to look. You begin to stare, this Spirit inside of you begins to turn in your stomach, your mouth wants to speak, but nothing comes. Jesus waves in front of your face as to bring your eyes back to the moment. He smiles as your eyes come back to rest on His and He asks you, "Are you ready for the greatest adventure you'll ever have?". You are unresponsive. It all seems like some sort of a dream. So Jesus asks again, still smileing, "Are you ready?". Your lips begin to mirror His as you nod your head. Suddenly, laughter bursts out in the room and next thing you know you and Jesus are laying on the ground side by side in laughter. All you can remember next is that you are overcome with an overwhelming peace and there is silence, but in the silence is a song, and you listen. It seems like hours have passed by when you finally open your eyes. Jesus is no longer in the room, but you still feel His pressence. Suddenly, you remember Jesus' words when He told you that the Spirit in you is closer than He could ever be to you. A smirk comes across your face. The feel of wet tears on your cheeks remind you of everything that you just felt in this new "spirit"of yours. You lay there running the whole thing over and over in your head, you don't want to forget...ever. The funny thing is that you won't forget if you only remember about that Spirit in you. It never leaves you, though in your forgetfulness, it may seem like it leaves. So remember. Don't forget that weird feeling you felt inside of you when you were still in your youth. Don't ever forget. He still wants to bless you. He still wants to give you great things. And He still wants to show you great and unsearchable things that you do not yet know....Aren't you curious? I am!
