This is the Skate park I am going to be doing my skate ministry at next year!
Last week my friend (Elizabeth Needham) and I decided to bless the local skaters at this park! We go there often to skate, and encourage one another and others, but this was solely a blessing day. So we got right down to business and baked 73 chocolate chip cookies with added sprinkles and packed our backpacks with them. Then we walked down to the skate park and handed them out to whoever wanted them!
Despite the fact that most people like cookies, the specific group that happened to be at the skate park today didn't. But we still gave away more than half of what we came with, needless to say, some kids got a sugar overload, while the others missed out.
We also came to a funny realization: if you pass out baked goods at a place where it's common to smoke a joint or maybe get drugs, you're going to get asked "what'd you put in them?" LOL. So, from a few innocent girls, God was able to show some love, through a good thing, to those who expected it the least.
I am so grateful for the opportunity we got that day to bless, and I'm looking forward to many more...just maybe not in the form of homemade cookies.
