LOVE ACTION

Wow, the last couple of weeks have been crazy awesome! Super busy, but jammed packed with ministries, restoration, healing and more! We are seeing some of the beginning stages of reformation take place here in Denver!

And the awesome part is that it all starts with love (which means anybody can do it). Then you back it up with relationship and faithfulness, and bam- you've got friends and open access to speak into their lives, in fact, they look forward to it.

It's been crazy. We go downtown and show love and people begin flocking to us.

Over the last few weeks our Compassion DTS students have been working on a project called "Love Action"- basically, a simple act of random kindness to someone or a group of people. So, the students go out and perform these "Love Actions" and many of them ran into the same people. So, now you have at least five people who have been met by different students, being told God loves them and so do we and... something sparks inside them. It's as if their soul comes alive. Their faces light up and hope can now be found in them.

Myself and a few others ran into one of these people, who was met by us on a number of occasions, the other day. He started quoting scripture after scripture to us from the New Testament Bible we gave him only one day prior to this time. Then he prayed for us and himself with a love that seemed almost unchartable. This man also has health problems and is reliant upon others to do everything for him. He is only able to move his head, body, and arms (a little). Yet, he sees how beautiful is the one who made him, recognized his debt to Him, and has fallen so faithfully in love with Him.

It was great the first time we met this man. We were all worshiping God in the middle of the busiest street in downtown Denver. We had people engaged in art, we were singing and I danced in the center for a while (another story in itself). Then this man and the one who was pushing him came to the worship circle. I watched as this man moved his one good hand in such a way as to beat the drum. He came closer, asked to be moved into our circle, and began to cry.

My friend later informed our group what happened: He told us how this man told him, "I just want to be a part of this". It was then that my friend moved him into the circle and the man began to cry.

There were many people drawn to us that night. Many stopped and watched, some joined us for a time, a few painted with us, others listened from afar (and pretended they weren't), most shared their hearts and dreams with us and simply had the desire to be known, be loved, or be a part of something.

So, as you go about your everyday life, think about some of the ways that you can do a "Love Action" toward another. Or perhaps, you need to step back and allow someone to perform a "Love Action" on you.

Let now be the time you give, and let now be the time you receive. God Bless...I love you.
