Seeing new things

Wow, I've only been on staff here at YWAM Denver for four months and I have seen/ experienced more than within my whole life before this time. Just last week we saw a few physical healings, two people receive our Lord as Savior, and many others who's eyes were opened to God's love for them!

All these things happened during one of our Kingdom Nights in the downtown Denver area. We went out on Good Friday each holding a lit candle as a sign of God's light to be shown in a dark world. As we walked down the strip, people asked questions, some joined us and lit a candle as well, others watched with curiosity.

Once we reached our main place, others swarmed around to see what the light was all about. Some came in close to ask questions, but most stayed at a distance with tears in their eyes. It was amazing! It was like the light broke in and touched their very heart, breaking through all the confusion and hurts, and finally...God's love like a hurricane washed away everything else in that moment until it was just them and the most purest of peace and love was made so clear.

My heart was so excited, yet moved to tears even now as God still cries out for them.

One man was so tormented within his soul that he resorted to screaming profanities to anyone who had ears. We showed a care towards him and he responded to a sound mind and even allowed prayer.

Another girl wanted to read us tarot cards. She was so used to people arguing and proving themselves with her that she began arguing with us before we asked her name.

Why can't we just see people as God does?

Why doesn't your heart break when you see someone hurting so bad that they resort to all kinds of evil?

Why are we so selfish? Why, when someone is screaming profanities, we shout "F you" (as if we are hurt by it), when we should see that it is because of their hurt that they are screaming in the first place? WHY?

So, allow this to be a challenge to you.

Next time someone acts harshly to you, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter various kinds of trouble". Why? Because our Lord would've and He did with each one of us. What makes us so different? Have you never had a time when you just wanted to scream? Just wanted someone to see you for who you really are? Just wished someone could understand your circumstance?

What makes you so different?
