Something to think about...

Here's something to think about...
So, you know how there always seems to be that transition phase from going on a retreat with the Lord and then "going back to the real world"? What if we never had to experience that again? How great would that be?
Well, the good news is, we can't! that's right, we can't. We were never meant for going back and forth from spending time with the Lord to spending Less to no time with him. We were created for him, to be with him, ALWAYS.
Maybe there's a reason why God said I wish you were either hot or cold, not lukewarm. Truthfully, God desires our relationship with him to be like your dream husband or wife: he wants every ounce of your attention to be on him. (That doesn't mean you have to seclude yourself and become a munk though).
God also knows that we have needs: like family, friends, to be loved, respected, etc. So, he gives us other humans to befriend and family and even gifts so we don't get bored with the same routines. But lets face it: only he can fully fill those needs.
So then, what stops us from being "hot", on fire for God? Is it our pride, to do things our own way, to figure it out on our own? Could it be fear or insecurity, that he will leave you or not come through? Or can it be as simple as selfishness, that we don't want God to have ALL of us, because we enjoy the junk in our lives and want to hold on to it?
Whatever the reason...it's ok. You aren't too far gone and you haven't missed out on God's plan for you (maybe just delayed it a bit)! And that's good news, or, THE Good News! So what do we do now? That's a great question...and it starts with you asking God. You might just find out that he isn't so concerned with all the crap you've done, just that he wants to love you in spite of it all, hoping you might love Him back someday. Do you see why it's GOOD news yet?
So if you're ready to talk to him about it, go ahead. It's as simple as talking to a good friend! And, for those of you who aren't so sure how to get to the place where there is no transition phase- where you can do everyday things and maintain a crazy love relationship with the Lord, it just starts with love (when you love someone enough, you will do anything for them, with them).
