For the last two or more years God has put this vision on my heart to start a skate ministry in Arvada, Colorado. For some of you this may be a surprise but I have laid it before God countless times asking Him to take it if He wanted, and He has told me to do it.
I am writing you all today because that is going to be a lot of work. I will not only need finances for the house that I will be hosting it from and for a car to use for transportation there and back from skate parks, but I would love to have anyone who would like to help pioneer this thing to come on out. Yes, I'm asking something of you I've never asked before; this is not going to be "my ministry", but your hands can be just as much involved as any. I am opening this up to anyone. before or after the ministry begins, to bring youth groups, teams, etc to minister to the street kids of Arvada and see what God has in the making. My hope is to launch it in September 2014.
As far as the cost of things, I have no idea. These are the things I will need: I am to run it out of a large house so I can host movie/ worship nights and have people stay for a few nights if needed. I'll need a car to be able to transport these kids to church on Sundays, get myself to the skate parks to do ministry and my job. A job so I can pay the costs of food, rent, and insurances, and occasionally buy skateboards to give away. A starter supply on skateboards, tools, etc to hand out and maybe supplies to build a half-pipe in the yard. Someone who is good with computers to develop a website to "get the word out" to local churches who may want to converge missions. And for when we launch the ministry, I'll need workers who can dedicate a day, a week, whatever to participate in the ministry and perhaps clothes and shoes(particularly for teenage boys around the ages of 14-20) as well.
This is just the starting phase, there will be many more updates as things progress. Don't hesitate to call or email me! I am excited to actually dedicate my full attention to this dream I've had for the last two years! And I'm excited to see all the details made clear and all the needs somehow met in the way God does! Also, yes, that means I will be leaving staff at YWAM Denver after next March 2014, (this is necessary in order to get a job and have extra time to actually do this skate ministry.) But I have had a few financial supporters not be able to give any more, so if you still would like the opportunity to sponsor me on staff for the next year or want to give to the skate ministry after that, that would be a huge blessing to me! Honestly I have been debating if I can stay on staff even for the next year. I have recently had to go to the hospital for an accident I had, and I don't have the money to pay for the hospital bills- it's not much, but can seem impossible with a limited budget.

- wisdom that none of the details (big or small) would get left out
- for a big house

- a job after YWAM to come up as soon as possible
- for friends to share this dream with who will take it up as their own
- For God to always remain the center and love of our lives and for Him to do a work in the lives of all who will be touched through this ministry!
